Social Venture Partners Denver, a program of the Denver Foundation, will open the fall application cycle on Friday, September 6, 2019. Since 2002, SVP Denver has provided high-end pro-bono consulting services to more than 200 local nonprofits valued at several million dollars, impacting tens of thousands of people in metro Denver.
Previous investees have received professional counsel in strategic planning, board governance, fund development, financial management, operations, branding and marketing. Engagements are typically one year long. Recent metro Denver nonprofits who we’ve partnered with include Second Chance Center, Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking and Colorado Photographic Arts Center.
“We partner with nonprofits that are ready to take their vital work to the next level of impact and have the necessary foundation to deliver sustained results,” says Rob Kellogg, Executive Director of SVP Denver. “SVP partners volunteer their time, talent and resources by organizing into teams to help nonprofits become more effective, enabling them to achieve better financial security and scale for their services, thereby producing a greater impact in the community.”
Prospective nonprofit investees must meet some basic requirements to be considered: three years of operational history, a current 501(c)(3) status or fiscal sponsorship, two or more full-time employees, five or more members on its board of directors, and annual revenues of $200,000 or more.
Nonprofit investee selection is based on several factors including the needs of the nonprofit, timing and the availability of SVP Denver resources to support the needs of the nonprofit investee. The timeline is as follows:
