The CEO is the face of our Impact Ecosystem. You will play a critical role in leading our growing community of Partners and Social Mission Organizations (nonprofits and for-profits with a primary social mission). SVP Denver believes in engaging and learning, connecting and collaborating, inclusivity and respect, as well as taking risks to grow. These values will be considered in hiring. 

SVP Denver seeks an innovative, entrepreneurial change-maker to lead the organization in an exciting new phase of growth. Externally, the CEO represents the organization to the public and donors, develops business and strategic relationships, and functions as an industry thought leader. Internally, the CEO is responsible for leading the organization’s operations, vision and strategy, ensuring we secure diverse & sustainable revenue, and works hand in hand with the Board of Directors to support staff and Partners to serve our ecosystem.

The goal of this role is to provide clear vision, leadership, and support to ensure the organization consistently achieves its mission and financial objectives, in alignment with its values. The CEO is accountable to and supported by the Board of Directors (“the Board”).

PRIORITY EXPERIENCE
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice: Will lead the adoption and implementation of diversity and inclusion strategies for the SVP Denver Partners and Social Mission Organization community with a focus on concrete measures and results.
  • Strategic Partnerships / Development / Fundraising: Should have significant relationship building experience and ideally an understanding of the Funder landscape in Colorado. Will be primarily responsible for developing financial partnerships and earned revenue strategies that contribute to the financial sustainability of the organization. 
  • Strong Operational and Team Management Background

Social Venture Partners Denver (SVP Denver) is a nonprofit membership organization for local professionals, businesses and impact funders dedicated to supporting social mission organizations addressing economic/health inequities in Metro Denver.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
  • Partner with the BOD to guide SVP Denver in achieving its mission
  • Support the BOD to develop and maintain a strong operating plan
  • Attend all BOD meetings, and working committee meetings as appropriate
  • Partner with the BOD Chair to support the recruitment and engagement of BOD members
Partner Recruitment and Retention, Fundraising/Revenue Growth, Community Relationship Development
  • Responsible for Partner member recruitment and satisfaction of individuals, businesses, foundations, and professional association members of SVP Denver
  • Responsible for broadening and diversifying revenue streams into SVP Denver
  • Responsible for cultivating strategic relationships with individuals and institutions in the community to leverage and amplify SVP Denver investments
  • Connect with business & nonprofit leaders with a passion for philanthropy
Business Operations
  • Manage all SVP Denver business operations; leverage Salesforce and Trello to optimize program and Partner management
  • Manage SVP Denver staff and contract consultants
  • Ensure that SVP Denver finances and other business functions are well managed
  • Manage relationship with CNDC, including contracting, invoicing and financials
  • Develop monthly reports to share with the SVP Denver BOD and other stakeholders
Supervise Program Delivery and Impact
  • Ensure all SVP Denver Partner members are optimally engaged
  • Work with Director of Partner Engagement to define impact metrics and ensure educational and social activities meet or exceed program and partner goals
  • Ensure Investee engagements are executed effectively, per SVP Denver processes
  • Support recruitment of potential impact investment opportunities; work with investors and strategic partners to perform due diligence and complete investments
Diversity, Inclusion & Equity
  • Guide and support SVP Denver in continually becoming a more inclusive and equitable organization
  • Work with BOD to set DEI goals throughout all areas of the organization and ensure there is a process in place to measure and refine
Marketing and Communications
  • Manage all marketing and communication strategies for SVP Denver, newsletter, website, and social media
  • Actively pursue public speaking and strategic networking opportunities to represent SVP Denver in the community
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion practices
  • Experience working directly with a Board of Directors and Executive Committee  
  • A minimum of 10-years of progressively responsible leadership experience in the nonprofit, business, or social enterprise arenas
  • Strong track record in fundraising, membership recruitment and revenue growth
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Financial acumen, including the ability to develop a budget, review financials, track budgetary variances, and keep the board abreast of the organization’s financial position
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Google’s G-Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, SalesForce and Trello
  • Self-motivated person with an excellent ability to manage multiple priorities and constituents; flexible and adaptable personality
WORK ENVIRONMENT

The SVP Denver office is currently based on the Clayton Early Learning Campus, subleasing space from PEBC. Ideally the CEO will be in the office at least three days a week based on offsite meeting schedules. SVP Denver offers a flexible work environment with an opportunity for remote work. Travel throughout the metro Denver region is a frequent requirement of the job. The position will regularly engage in evening activities and occasional weekend events. 

Note that due to the age of this building, it is not currently Accessible.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must have reliable transportation for traveling throughout the Denver-Metro area
  • Must be able to provide at least three professional references

COMPENSATION

$90,000 + Benefits

Benefits 

This is a full time/salaried role and includes Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short and Long Term Disability, LifeLock, Telehealth and 401k.   Paid time off benefits include Holidays, Sick Leave and Vacation.
