Denver Active 20-30 & Social Venture Partners Denver leverage their business experience to offer innovative on-the-ground support to A Precious Child

 

Broomfield, COApril 19, 2019 – A Precious Child, a local nonprofit providing children in need with opportunities and resources to empower them to achieve their full potential, has been selected for a year-long pro bono consulting engagement with Social Venture Partners Denver and its foundation partner, Denver Active 20-30 Children’s Foundation.

 

Social Venture Partners Denver and Denver Active 20-30 Children’s Foundation offer a network of skilled volunteers in business, government, and nonprofit sectors who work shoulder-to-shoulder with local nonprofits to help build their business capacity. Together, Social Venture Partners Denver and Denver Active 20-30 will leverage their business expertise to offer innovative, on-the-ground support to A Precious Child. Together, they will tackle strategic planning, fund development and other critical business operations over the course of a year-long engagement together.

 

According to 2018 population estimates by Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation, more than 300,000 metro Denver residents are living in poverty, which includes approximately 100,000 children. A Precious Child understands that breaking the cycle of poverty is possible when families are offered the resources and support they need, and they work to reduce stress in the lives of their clients by providing essentials and opportunities that lessen economic and situational hardships. Ninety-six percent of families report their family’s quality of life has improved after receiving services from A Precious Child.

 

Working towards greater community impact, together with Social Venture Partners Denver and Denver Active 20-30, A Precious Child expects to accomplish five strategic priorities: 1) Embrace their clients, culture & people, 2) Increase brand awareness, 3) Mobilize the community, 4) Strengthen evaluation & outcomes, and 5) Plan for growth. The Denver Active 20-30 team is led by Nathan VanDiggelen of BKD, who is working closely with A Precious Child’s executive staff to meet these goals.

 

Social Venture Partners Denver helps business leaders realize greater impact in their giving through investment of their time and business expertise into local nonprofits, to help them thrive. Denver Active 20-30 is a nonprofit service organization for business leaders between the ages of 20 and 39. Both organizations’ members represent a diversity of professional backgrounds and they come together to develop philanthropic leaders who mobilize the community for greater impact.
