Best Practices & Board Fundraising is an interactive, partner-led workshop designed to help board members build confidence, clarify their role in fundraising, and develop practical skills to support their organization’s growth. Facilitated by Megan Ferry and Eloise Casdorph of Nonprofit Navigators, this session combines foundational knowledge with hands-on activities to make board-led fundraising more approachable, strategic, and effective.
Through case studies, relationship mapping, and guided practice making an ask, participants will actively apply what they learn. An individual assessment will help each person identify their unique fundraising strengths and areas for growth.
By the end of the session, board members will leave with a clearer understanding of their role in fundraising, increased confidence in initiating donor conversations, and practical tools to leverage their networks and advocate for their organization’s mission. The workshop aims to create a shared understanding of fundraising responsibility, strengthen collaboration between board and staff, and support a more sustainable, mission-aligned approach to resource development.
