Why is this training free / on a sliding scale?
SVP Denver is a nonprofit that connects nonprofits and social enterprises with the expertise and support they need to grow their impact. We are primarily funded through grants and individual donations that allow us to offer our high-value training for free (or at highly subsidized rates). We are committed to making our programs accessible to all organizations – especially those with inequitable access to resources.
Why is this training free for BIPOC-Led organizations?
We recognize that there are disparities in the level of funding and access to resources that BIPOC-led organizations experience nationally and in Colorado. A small way we are addressing those inequities is by making our programs free to your organization if:
- Your Executive Director / CEO identifies as Black, Indigenous or a Person of Color
OR
- 50%+ of your leadership team identifies as Black, Indigenous or a Person of Color
Is my organization too big/too small for this program?
We believe the learning in this training cohort is applicable to organizations across a range of sizes and stages of development. You will work on developing a list of funders and strategies for approaching them that is specific to your organization (and based on your capacity to execute).
How flexible is the program? I’m not sure I can make all the sessions.
Very flexible! You will have access to two online courses that you can complete at any time.
We highly encourage you to join the live sessions with our expert instructors to get the most value out of these, but we will also record them and share out with all registered participants.
We will also send follow up emails with notes and resources after these sessions and the peer-to-peer learning sessions.
I’m an independent fundraiser. Can I participate?
Yep! If you are working to raise money for mission-driven organizations and serving as the de facto Development Director for an organization then you are welcome to join and would likely benefit from the program.
