Over the past 18 months, SVP Denver has leveraged our learning to transform our impact programs to better meet the needs of social mission organizations in the Denver Metro area. We’ve also increased our efforts to collect data about the organizations we are reaching to better understand how we can make the most impact. Here’s some of what we learned about the organizations reaching out to SVP for support:
There’s incredible energy and innovation happening within these small, resourceful organizations and they are doing amazing work to meet the changing needs of their communities. The pandemic upended many organizations’ programs and business models – like Adelante Community Development that added community vaccinations and healthcare navigation to its small business support services. The unprecedented stresses of these last few years also increased the need for more flexible funding and business/operations expertise to help organizations adapt, grow and sustain their efforts. These challenges are especially true for organizations rooted in communities of color who continue to face additional barriers to success.
