Our Road Ahead: SVP Denver’s 2026–2029 Strategic Plan
SVP Denver has spent more than 25 years building a network of changemakers committed to a more equitable Denver. Today, we are sharing our 2026 to 2029 Strategic Plan, a three-year roadmap organized around three pillars with clear objectives and measurable key results. Here is what it includes and how you can be part of it.
A Word from our Board of Directors
On behalf of the SVP Denver Board of Directors, we extend our deepest gratitude to the partners, social mission organizations, staff, and community members whose voices and commitment shaped this strategic plan. The Board’s role is to steward this organization’s mission and long-term health and we take that responsibility seriously. This plan reflects our commitment to ensuring SVP Denver remains a strong, accountable, and adaptive organization for the years ahead.
After more than 25 years of building the SVP Denver network, we have never been better positioned to deliver on a plan like this. We are proud to move into this chapter with strong leadership at the helm with a new CEO that has experienced our model firsthand as a social mission organization and then as a partner. That lived understanding is an extraordinary asset, and the Board has full confidence in the vision and dedication the whole team brings to this role.
The next three years hold tremendous possibilities and we are grateful to pursue them alongside you. Whether that means deepening your partnership, lending your expertise to build capacity, or connecting others to this work, there is a role for you here. The strength of this plan lives in the collective action our community takes to bring it forward.
Sincerely,
Miranda Graul, Board Chair
A Word from our CEO
This strategic plan is the result of months of intentional work. We listened to nonprofit and social enterprise leaders, gathered partner feedback, and took a robust look at the evolving needs of our community. We honed in on what makes SVP Denver vibrant and unique, and where we most need to invest.
Here is what you can expect from us over the next three years: more clarity, consistency, and reliability, delivered with the warmth and intentionality that have always defined SVP Denver. More learning and co-designing. More community building. More tools and trainings. And you will see us showing up in more spaces and places across the ecosystem, with the same openness we have always brought.
This Strategic Plan is grounded in three pillars, each of which is accompanied by clear objectives and measurable key results. We are committed to delivering on these goals, offering transparency in our progress, and continually incorporating community voice into our work.
The strength of this plan lies in the people behind it. Our team and board bring broad cross-sector experience. Our partners bring leadership and deep community knowledge. Together, we are ready.
I am grateful for this community and energized by what we can build together. Let’s get to work.
With gratitude,
Theresa Rinne-Meyers, CEO
What Guides This Plan
SVP Denver’s mission is to amplify the impact of local nonprofits and social mission organizations addressing health, economic, and racial inequities in Metro Denver by connecting them to the support and expertise they need to thrive. SVP Denver operates a “time plus resources” hybrid model that sets us apart in the social impact ecosystem:
- Venture Philanthropy Legacy: For over 25 years, we have combined deep, skills-based support with capital mobilization to strengthen the nonprofit sector.
- Engaged Partner Network: Our partners serve as community ambassadors, contributing professional expertise to support social mission organizations on the ground.
- Skill-Based Support: We provide hands-on advising in areas like financial modeling, operational efficiency, and leadership development.
Three Pillars for the Next Three Years
Pillar 1: Build a Diverse, Skilled, and Engaged Partner Community
Our objectives are to grow and diversify our Partner base so that expertise is deployed where it has the most community impact by defining what partnership looks like, mapping skills to real community needs, creating a clear partner journey, and building meaningful spaces for connection and learning.
Key targets by 2029:
- 100+ partners with 85%+ annual renewal rate
- 30% of SVP Denver’s budget comprised of partner contributions
- 15% year-over-year increase in average partner hours contributed
Pillar 2: Deliver High-Impact Support for Nonprofits and Social Enterprises
Our objectives are to scale our advising services and increase the capital mobilized for the Denver metro area while providing nonprofits and social enterprises with clearer access to personalized support, better tools, and stronger pathways to funding readiness and investments through SVP Denver and beyond.
Key targets by 2029:
- 50% more nonprofits and social enterprises served than in the previous three years
- Net Promoter Score of 80+
- 10% year-over-year increase in capital mobilized
- 85% of participating organizations affirm that SVP Denver services helped them scale their missions
Pillar 3: Increase Awareness of SVP Denver’s Model in the Social Impact Ecosystem
Our objectives are to strengthen our storytelling, clarify our value proposition, and build strategic collaborations with funders and impact investors in the region to deploy more capital and advisory support where it is needed most.
Key targets by 2029:
- 50% of new partner and nonprofit leads originating from ecosystem partnerships, events, and referrals
- 50% of partners and nonprofits served make at least one successful referral into the SVP ecosystem annually
How We Will Stay Accountable
Every pillar has an accountable owner. Every objective has measurable key targets. Our team will connect quarterly to track progress, share learnings, and adapt. We are committed to transparency, and if we are not meeting our targets, we will assess why and adjust. Annual work plans will be developed and shared with the board to keep this plan living and evolving.
