SVP Denver offers a year-long Service Leadership program for nonprofit executives who wish to strengthen their leadership skills, deepen their personal impact within their organization and broaden their professional reach across the Denver nonprofit sector. The dozen participants begin the year-long program with a full-day retreat and an executive leadership assessment that informs individual goal setting and their personal development plan. Following that, ten monthly meetings employ dialogue, thematic learning and peer coaching to achieve milestones among the group.

“Take the leap, take the time,” says Rachelle Pizarro, senior development director at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and a current participant in the inaugural cohort. “You will leave equipped with a better understanding of your leadership edge, and even more valuable, a squad of fellow passionate nonprofit peers!”

Throughout the year-long program, which is sponsored by Bank of the West, the cohort has access to five in-person 90-minute sessions and four virtual 60-minute sessions with SVP partner members Matt Jones and Pat Landrum, both experienced executive trainers. In addition, our more than 70 SVP Denver partner members are available for specialized consultation and mentorship as needed. In 2020, SVP partner Michelle Brown will be taking over co-facilitation duties for Pat Landrum.

“Our SVP Service Leadership program is a key offering as we inspire engaged philanthropy around Denver,” says executive director Rob Kellogg. “Our two-fold mission is to help philanthropists, as well as nonprofits, become more effective in the community. This program delivers measurable impact in strengthening the city’s already vibrant nonprofit sector.”
